Philip slammed his wrist in a sliding glass door at radio-talk-show-host David Tyree's a couple of weeks ago. It's been hurting him ever since. He made a doctor's appointment today to have it looked at (since it showed no signs of healing on its own). The x-ray showed that his wrist is broken!!! They immediately put him in a cast. He will NOT be able to deal poker at the casino until the cast is removed... months. Needless to say it's freakin' me out... money is already tight without having to get by on medical leave pay. But Philip is very glad to get a break from the smoky, loud environment and the bitchy people.

Philip (sporting his plastered arm), my friend Skitz and I all went to see AMERICAN WEDDING. It was completely contrived, but still a fun way to spend 90 minutes.

Later Philip and I watched another Charles Dickens' masterpiece, the David Lean film adaptation of GREAT EXPECTATIONS. It's so beautiful... I would love to see a good modern version of this tale. And yes I saw the Ethan Hawke / Gwenyth Paltrow version... and I liked it very much, but I'd like to see a grand period-piece, like NICHOLAS NICKLEBY from last night. Hey, Jamie Bell would be an excellent Pip...
