Vidkid Timo's Online Diary

The diary of Vidkid Timo
a testament of my insanity

Paul G. flew in from his recent New York City trip and came over to visit before driving back to Baton Rouge. Paul and I drove by the house that Philip is renovating for some friends... I wanted Paul to be able to fully appreciate the "after" by seeing the "before"... then Paul and I went to see GIRLS WILL BE GIRLS at Canal Place. We got in for free because an old friend of mine (Jack) who used to work at Clover Grill was at the box-office. It was very nice to see Jack after all these years...

Paul loved Varla's movie! Paul is probably Varla's second biggest fan (with me and Donna sharing the number one position). Paul was around for a lot of Varla's earliest videos... we made many of them with Paul's video-camera!

Paul had to get on the road, so he left me in the French Quarter. I didn't have my gym clothes, but I went to enjoy the hot-tub for a bit anyway. My star Alex Leder was there... and poor D.J. Rob had the hiccups... since last night! But he finally got rid of them by sucking... by sucking jolly rancher candies, that is!

Philip came to pick me up and we went to have dinner at Chili's on the westbank. We finally got to meet my pen-pal who works there. Michael J. is much cuter than he lead me to believe... and he took very good care of us. It's always so nice to be able to put a face with a name.

Philip and I came home... I worked on my computer while he worked on his. He's learning some blue-printing software that will help him redesign the house he's fixing up.

Philip has to get up early tomorrow so he went to bed early while I stayed up and watched the History Channel show about "The Christmas Truce" which took place during World War I... between British and German soldiers. It's a very moving story... and it's true. I remember first hearing about it in elementary school... Silliman Institute... Anyway, if you don't know the story, on Christmas Day in 1914, German soldiers crawled out of their trenches holding a Christmas Tree lit with candles... the British met them in between the lines and they celebrated the day together... talking, eating, playing games. It makes me cry to think about such a thing. I don't understand war... I don't understand how anyone can dehumanize or demoralize anyone. We're all people... and I think that the spirit of humanity that made the "Christmas Truce" happen, is always in us. I also believe that it can constantly be tapped into. I hope we learn to do that.

Oh and if that seems too serious or philisophical for ya... I also watched Justin Timberlake on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
