For ya'll who asked exactly what we were doing last night at midnight... Philip had just been woken up by his nurse so she could give him a sleeping pill (go figure) so Philip was in his hospital room, watching fireworks through his window (not the big downtown pyrotechnic display, but the numerous neighborhood discharges). And I was walking home (there were no cabs to be had... and the street-cars were all filled) so I could shower and sleep. I had been at the hospital all day and I knew I'd be useless if I couldn't recharge.

So... Thursday (today)... I woke up as early as I could and went back to the hospital. Philip was in pain, but he was otherwise fine. He puked again after he ate... but a new chest x-ray revealed that what looked like mild pneumonia was just temporary pulmonary edema... and it looked nearly normal compared to yesterday's pic. And the red spots on his leg had almost faded completely.

We spent the whole day letting all the nurses and doctors figure out that Philip was okay to go home.

When the last drop of intravenous fluids drained out of the clear, hanging-bag and into Philip's arm, we got the green-light to leave! A cab took us to the Walgreen's on St. Charles (one block up and three blocks over from where we live) to get the prescriptions for anti-biotics and pain-killers filled... and as we walked out we had a brush with greatness. Sexy rocker Lenny Kravitz was entering the building as I exited! And his gorgeous new girlfriend Nicole Kidman was on a bike waiting for him. Isn't that wild?! No, these weren't look-alikes... Lenny Kravitz owns a home here in New Orleans. But I certainly would never have expected them to be riding bikes... but celebrities can ride bikes if they wanna.

Philip and I finally got home just after 7pm. We ordered some food from Cafe Roma and watched more of THE TWILIGHT ZONE marathon on the Sci-Fi channel for the rest of the evening.

When Philip napped on his Vicodin, I went to work out at Le Club. I saw a guy there who looked like Philip's friend Toby, only hotter. His name is Lee and we had a nice long chat.
