Philip and I spent most of the day at home... avoiding Mardi Gras crowds. But when we left the house we went out to Harahan to shop at Super Wal-Mart. We got some low-carb baking mixes. I have a feeling low-carb pancakes will taste like styrofoam.

We watched ALEX AND EMMA on dvd from netflix.com. It was okay. I generally love everything Kate Hudson does, but her character irritated me a little bit in this one. I totally fell for the sentimental ending, though. Luke Wilson is cute, ain't he?

Will Clark (of willclarkusa.com) emailed me yesterday. He's such a hot hunk.

Later we watched ANTWONE FISHER on cable. It was frickin' awesome. Denzel Washington did a very good job of directing (of course, he's always an excellent actor). The story was of an abused young man, raised by a crazy, cruel woman. He grows up, joins the Navy, because his options are very limited, and finds that he is unable to control his anger, so he gets into lots of trouble. The boy, Antwone, is sent to see a psychiatrist (played by Denzel). Together they work through a lot of problems in their lives. Antwone has to deal with abandonment issues and the desire to be part of a family.

I always considered myself to be very lucky in the "family" area. I'm very close to my immediate family... but not so much to my extended family. So, it's somewhat of a foreign notion to me... the idea of a large, loving family. I count myself lucky for the family relationships I have... and the ones I have created. So many people in this world are alone... or at least very lonely. I understand that feeling.

Christina Aguilera hosted SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE... and she was very good. They did a SEX AND THE CITY spoof in which Aquilera played "Samantha" and she was dead on!

Speaking of SEX AND THE CITY, tomorrow night is the last episode of the series! I can't believe I won't be seeing a nearly nude Jason Lewis on a regular basis. He was actually on THE ELLEN DEGENERES SHOW last night. He seems like such a sweety. Even Ellen believes he'll go on to be very highly successful. I agree. And if you're reading this, Mr. Lewis... please let me suck your penis... or at least lick your ass.
