Former president Bill Clinton had quadruple by-pass heart surgery today. I wonder how my diet is clogging up my blood vessels?

I forgot to mention recently that I heard on the radio that Oliva Newton-John was going to be performing at a nearby casino later this month. I've loved her since the "Have you Never Been Mellow?" and "Water Under the Bridge" days... But we can't afford to buy tickets... plus all the good seats are taken (I checked on a whim). So, she'll just have to get along without me.

Varla called to wish me a happy Labor Day. She was on a train going from P-town to NYC where she'll have an audition tomorrow for a Broadway revival of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES. Of course, she's too young for the role, but it won't hurt to be seen by some Broadway producers (let's keep our fingers crossed for her anyway).
