My oldest niece (Alicia) came to visit me and Philip... and her mother (my sister) Rhonda also came over and took Philip and I to see her and her husband Mike's new house. It was lovely... on a very nice 6 acres of land.

Later Philip and I went to visit an old friend of the family (and neighbor) Miss Juanita and her daughter Stephanie. Stephanie and I used to watch GONE WITH THE WIND very often when I was young. I got such a thrill telling her about the Margaret Mitchell House and Gone With The Wind Museum we saw in Atlanta last year.

We watched the Weather Channel with my mother every few hours... charting the path of Hurricane Ivan. It looked like it was heading right for Mobile (we live in a small town 25 miles from Mobile)... but as it got closer to the coast, it turned slightly to the East... so the little town of Wilmer, Alabama got the better side of the storm. We went to bed not knowing what kind of damage to expect when we got back home.
