Vidkid Timo's Online Diary

The diary of Vidkid Timo
- boring details of my life -

I had a nightmare about losing the kittens... but eventually getting them back. It woke me up... and as I lay in bed trying to get back to sleep, I heard Sangria howl so loudly that I thought she had gotten out of the utility / laundry room and was outside of our bedroom window! I shot outta that bed like a naked rocket and sprinted to where my cats were supposed to be interned. They were all there... sitting by the door, waiting to get let outside, as I do for them in the morning. Sangria sure has me trained!

It was still an hour or so before Philip was supposed to get up... and I was wide awake by then, so I started watching a little television. I saw an episode of "Hogan's Heroes" in high definition. That was surreal. Later I watched the end of NICO THE UNICORN in HD... and then even later I caught the beginning of it in standard definition. There really is a difference in quality and clarity, especially on a large screen. Adorable Kevin Zegers was only 14 when he made NICO THE UNICORN. I was only recently turned on to him in WRONG TURN and the lack-luster remake of DAWN OF THE DEAD. He is such a beautiful young man now.

When Philip got home from work we drove out to Bellingrath Gardens to see their holiday lights display. It was lovely... and puts New Orleans' "Celebration in the Oaks" to shame. We both noticed that there wasn't a Hanukkah section. But other than that... the lights were amazing... as lovely as the gardens themselves that we saw earlier this year when they were in full bloom.

When we got home we watched SHAUN OF THE DEAD. Oh my god, it was fuckin' brilliant!!! As many of you know, I kind of love the zombie genre... NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD and 28 DAYS LATER (oi, Cillian Murphy's penis!) are two of my favorite films of all time. I even made a comedic zombie-parody porn-flick myself. Well, SHAUN OF THE DEAD is everything a romantic comedy should be... peppered with genuinely touching moments, macabre gore... not to mention that it is raucously funny. For any fans of the horror-comedy genre, I highly recommend this film!
