Vidkid Timo's Online Diary

The diary of Vidkid Timo
- boring details of my life -

Philip and I are still working bit by bit, chip by chip, inch by inch on renovating our house. The first bathrooms walls are all painted and touched up (its hard to get pigment in all the stucco cracks) the cabinets have three coats of chocolate-colored Ralph Lauren paint, eagerly waiting for their new brushed nickel pulls. Just as soon as we melt the glue and remove the old linoleum tiles (we prefer concrete floors), well be able to put the cabinets back in place, reinstall the sink and well have two bathrooms again (for a while until we continue working on the master bathroom). Weve also repotted all of our large house-plants in beautiful earth-toned, glazed urns that match our khaki walls. We still have so much to do but weve only got four hands.

Realizing we needed more electrical wire to put in a pot light over the hall bath toilet, we drove to Mobile to get that and a few other things. While pulling into the Home Depot parking lot, a story on N.P.R. (National Public Radio) caught our attention. A reporter recorded some conversations with a friend of his who attempted suicide then edited it together with occasional musical embellishments. He had hopes that if his friend (Bryan) would hear himself speak about the experience, that it would give him a different perspective on his life and problems and prevent future suicide attempts (I couldnt help but think of how this online diary is kind of like a longer, self-indulgent version of that not specifically to prevent people from turning down their darkest paths and following them to their ends, but to entertain, educate and enlighten by letting readers glimpse into my life every aspect of it twisted, silly, sexy, boring, often weak, occasionally strong, sometimes serious, generally tongue-in-cheek getting past the stigma of what a former porn actor is what a fag is what an artist is what a person is). It was fascinating to hear Bryan speak of his dark feelings of hopelessness. But the goal of this auditory presentation was not attained. Bryan eventually succeeded in killing himself. Perhaps the radio program will help listeners learn from Bryans plight. As someone who knows despair (especially in those difficult college years) it was quite a moving production. Philip and I were nearly in tears by the time it was over and we still had to go into Home Depot and do the shopping!

When we got home and finished dinner, Philip and I watched Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (we hope sexy British Ed stays on the design crew), the second season premiere of Carnivle (in high definition, of course) and then another new HBO series called Unscripted. It was brilliant very interesting for people interested in the behind-the-scenes games of showbiz.

By 10pm we were very sleepy but decided to stay up and watch 50 FIRST DATES. It was so funny it totally woke us up with giggles and gafaws. But we still didnt have any trouble getting to sleep afterward on this Sunday, January 9th, 2005.
