Vidkid Timo's Online Diary

The diary of Vidkid Timo
- boring details of my life -

Philip and I were cuddling on the sofa this morning, watching some of "The Today Show" before he had to go to work... and a commercial came on. The sound was muted, so we're not sure what they were advertising, but these are the images we saw: A man is hurriedly trying to prepare a meal in an all-white kitchen. The man is chopping some vegetable with a big knife while his fluffy white can is curiously investigating a pot on the stove. The cat steps onto the handle of the pot, spilling the marinara sauce on the floor and on its own snowy fur. The man hears the racket, turns around with the big knife in one hand and grabs the cat by the scruff of the neck with the other hand. At that moment, his wife gets home from work and as she enters their apartment, all she can see at the end of the hall is her husband standing near a red puddle with a scarlet-smeared cat in one hand and a knife in the other! It was one of the funniest things we can remember seeing in quite a while. Philip and I both laughed and laughed... and I'm still laughing about it as I type this.

:-)

As many of my long-time readers know, I'm a big fan of "Star Trek" and I strongly support the efforts of trekunited.com in their quest to get UPN to either rescind their cancellation of "Star Trek: Enterprise" or to allow it to move to another network to continue producing fresh episodes. Well, since the night I heard that "Star Trek: Enterprise" had been axed, I've been writing letters like crazy, trying to raise awareness of the campaign to save the show. One of the first people I wrote to was the famous physicist, Stephen Hawking... since I know he's a "Star Trek" fan, having appeared on "Star Trek: The Next Generation". I never heard back from him directly, but today it was announced that Mr. Hawking is publicly endorsing trekunited.com. I can only hope that my email helped make him aware of how his wide respect and influence could make a difference in saving the show and continuing the noble legacy that is at the heart of "Star Trek".

Today was the first day that I saw all of the cats eating... seven of them in a row. I hope I can get a pic of them doing that to show ya'll.

"The Oprah Winfrey Show" was excellent today. Three housewives spent the night in a women's prison and learned that behind most crimes is an unfortunate and repentant human being, not just a monster. One of the women said something to the effect that after people put a label on someone, they stopping looking past that label. I totally identify... having been completely dismissed as an artist and a human being after disclosure of my porn history.

Another "Oprah" segment showed how different things were in a men's prison situation. All those masculine ego's mixed with insecurity, vying for respect... harkens back to images of HBO's brilliant series, "Oz". Hot.

That was my Thursday, April 7th, 2005.
