The diary of Vidkid Timo

boring details of my life -
Fires keep breaking out in New Orleans... I wonder how much of the city will be left to rebuild? Thankfully many of the iconic historical places seem to have survived. The city is so unique and special.
Oprah's show today was good. She toured the Superdome. She said that her first instinct was to vomit. One of her doctor friends was at the airport (which is a make-shift hospital) and he said 90 people are dying per day. Some people that the doctors don't have the ability to help are brought to the morgue before they die... so they can pass away in peace. It's such a sad and lonely way to go. This doesn't even seem like America.
Nate Berkus talked to one 24 year old guy who didn't want to get on a bus to be evacuated to Baton Rouge, because he couldn't take his dog (who he had since he was 10). So Nate promised to take the dog (and 2 other pups) to Baton Rouge. The obvious gratitude was very touching. Thank goodness for these occasional happy stories.
That was Tuesday, September 6th, 2005.
