Two New Orleans police officers committed suicide today. Jeez, I can only imagine the pressures and stresses those people (citizens AND protectors) are dealing with. Every day Philip and I keep thanking our lucky stars that we moved away before this destruction of Biblical proportions.
Late in the day we finally got internet service back... so I was able to email Barry and let him know how sorry we are for not being able to go to Chicago. I was also very touched by 111 emails from friends and friends asking if Philip and I are okay. I'll remain worried until I hear from all of my New Orleans chums and pen-pals.
Before I went to bed I saw THE ADVENTURES OF PRINCE ACHMED, a silent animated feature from 1926. It was wonderful.
That was Sunday, September 4th, 2005.
